“The Hope Scholarship can go to HELL” is the response from one family. I never wanted my children to get a Hope Scholarship in the first place!” This was the response I got from a family I spoke to today about the challenges/changes recently with the Georgia scholarship that is undergoing a facelift from 3.0 to 3.75 and squeezing out many of the lower income lottery players who are said to fund the budget. And the fact that the money comes from the lottery is the reason for this family not wanting any parts of the money. It is something to think about. This family feels that their children will go to college with scholarships that have nothing to do with selling lottery tickets to those that are less fortunate and less educated.(because wise people don’t play the lottery)
Now with all the fuss I have heard of the changes with the Hope Scholarship…this was a first.
But it even has me thinking…
Until next time
